How the SimuLingua consortium collects, uses, and protects personal data on this website.

1. Who we are
SimuLingua is a Horizon Europe research project (101295295). The website is maintained by the project consortium, coordinated by FLOWPHYS AS (Oslo, Norway).

2. What data we collect
Depending on how you use the website, we may process:
- Technical data such as IP address, browser type, device information, and pages visited.
- Contact details you voluntarily provide when starting a project updates subscription or contacting the consortium.
- Cookie and analytics data, if enabled (see section 4).
We do not intentionally collect special categories of personal data through this website.
3. Project updates subscription
If you start a project updates subscription, we store your email address to send information about SimuLingua — including milestones, publications, events, consortium news, and newsletters.
Subscriptions are processed through Mailchimp (Intuit Mailchimp). You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in each email or by contacting us.
4. Cookies and analytics
This website uses essential cookies required for basic functionality. With your consent, we use Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Limited) to measure aggregate traffic and improve the site. Analytics cookies are disabled until you accept them via the cookie banner. You can withdraw consent by clearing site data in your browser or contacting us.

5. Legal basis and purposes
We process personal data on the following bases, as applicable:
- Consent — for example, when you start a project updates subscription.
- Legitimate interests — to operate, secure, and improve the website.
- Legal obligation — where we must retain or disclose information under EU or national law.
6. How long we keep data
Server logs and security records are retained for a limited period necessary for troubleshooting and protection. Project updates subscription contact details are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them, unless a longer retention period is required by law.
7. Sharing and processors
We may share data with consortium partners, hosting providers, email delivery services, or analytics tools acting as processors on our instructions. We do not sell personal data.
Where data is transferred outside the European Economic Area, appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) will be applied.
8. Your rights
Under the GDPR, you may have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or object to processing of your personal data, and to data portability where applicable. You may also withdraw consent at any time and lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
